Why I do what I do
In a world full of focusing on comparing ourselves to others, fearing what the outside world will think of us and chasing external ideals, I've slowed down and realised I want to help others with a journey inward. Even though you are not your body, you have a body and it's your most valuable tool to experience and explore what little time we have on this planet.
Hi, I'm Chanelle and I see you. I want to help you be seen by yourself too.
There are endless reasons for wanting or needing a great photo, but I'm also here to tell you there is no reason necessary at all. It's a great way to connect with yourself, be present and push beyond your comfort zone.
My main focus is your comfort, for you to enjoy the experience and of course to have a fabulous set of photos.
What I offer
Photography has been my fulltime job for over 8 years and so I've explored many various avenues in the field. The areas I am most comfortable in are boudoir (Peaches), portraits, weddings (intimate small weddings and elopements too), lifestyle family sessions including maternity and newborn and of course, personal branding or content creation for small businesses. I know... It's a lot, but I go where I am needed.
The Portraits & Peaches photography studio is based in Woodstock, Cape Town and a lot of the magic happens there. The studio is also available to other photographers and creators.
The most important aspect for me is clear communication and making sure we are on the same page. I'm more than happy to talk through your vision or dream to see if I am the right person to make it a reality. I love a good coffee and also give a mean pep-talk if it is needed.
I run a 1 woman show here but also recognise nothing can happen or work smoothly without the support of a community. I try my best to work from a place of love and kindness for my clients, as well as myself, and if that fails to be the case I'll step back and try again. I encourage you to reach out, even if it's just to say hi.
